How to judge the quality of Goji berry?
First, distinguish from the color.
The color of fresh goji berry varies from place to place, but the color is soft, glossy and full of meat, while most of the dyed wolfberry are old products from previous years. From a sensory point of view, the meat is poor and dull, but the appearance is bright and attractive. In particular, the whole of the dyed Chinese wolfberry is red, and even the small white spot of the goji berry pedicel is red, while the normal Chinese wolfberry tip pedicel is mostly yellow or white, and the pigment stained Chinese wolfberry pedicel is red. Most of the colored or sulfur-dyed Chinese wolfberry is bright red, while the authentic Chinese wolfberry is mostly dark red, and the colored Chinese wolfberry will feel sticky, but the authentic Chinese wolfberry does not. goji berry also has summer fruit, different in dry and wet hardness, autumn fruit color is relatively dark, soft, pay attention to no matter which kind of Chinese wolfberry color will not be too bright.
For some good quality Chinese wolfberry, the positive color is dark purplish red, there is no blackhead, the quality deviation is miscellaneous and blackhead is more. At the same time, the tip pedicle of normal Chinese wolfberry is yellow or white, while the dyed Chinese wolfberry is yellow or white because the Chinese wolfberry dyed with pigment is particularly afraid of water. It is suggested that we can put a few grains of Chinese wolfberry into the water when choosing and buying Chinese wolfberry. Or deliberately rub with wet hands, if the color fades, it means that pigment has been used. Then we can see from the navel of Chinese wolfberry (the separation of fruit and stalk) that normal Chinese wolfberry is white, the navel of sulfur-treated wolfberry is yellow, and the navel of colored Chinese wolfberry is red.
Second, distinguish from the shape.
Goji berry takes big and full grains as the top grade. Because soaking with alum will make the fruit of Chinese wolfberry bigger, so many businesses use this method. But Chinese wolfberry soaked in alum is easy to distinguish. If this kind of Chinese wolfberry is exposed to light, there will be a shining crystal point on the surface of the medicine.
Third, distinguish from the smell.
Some unscrupulous traders fumigate with sulfur in order to make the color of Chinese wolfberry bright. Generally, goji berry smoked with sulfur will have an obvious sour or pungent smell, and good quality Chinese wolfberry will have a unique natural aroma. For Chinese wolfberry fumigated by sulfur, you only need to grab a hand and cover it with both hands for a while, then put it under your nose and smell it. If you can smell the irritating smell, you can be sure that it has been fumigated by sulfur. No spicy, pungent taste, which proves that the amount of sulfur used in fumigation is not very large.
