Chemical Composition

Bupleurum root contains n-spinach sterol, alcohol and bupleurum saponins a, c, d, and other volatile oil.

Bupleurum japonicum root contains bupleurum saponins a, c, d, essential oil, bupleurum alcohol, bupleurum SPP.

Pharmacological Effects

* Bupleurum has sedative, stable, analgesic, antipyretic, antitussive and other extensive central inhibitory effects.

* Bupleurum root and its active component bupleurum saponins have anti-inflammatory effects, which are related to the promotion of adrenal cortex system functions.

* Bupleurum saponins have the effect of lowering plasma cholesterol.

* Bupleurum has better anti-fatty liver, anti-liver injury, cholagogic, reduce transaminase, stimulate intestinal smooth muscle, inhibit gastric acid secretion, anti-ulcer, inhibit trypsin and other effects.

* Bupleurum decoction has inhibitory effect on mycobacterium tuberculosis.

* Bupleurum also has anti-cold virus, increase protein biosynthesis, anti-tumor, anti-radiation and enhance immune function.

Identify

*Appearance: Conical shape, with many fine hairy dead leaf fibers at the top, and mostly unbranched at the bottom.

*Hard texture, high dryness: slightly softer, easy to break, slightly flattened in cross section, not fibrous, with inferior oil

*The smell is fresh, natural and clean: the appearance is neat and clean, the color is natural, clean and authentic

  A: Flowers and otheraerial parts of the plant shall not exceed 1 year.

      Seeds shall not exceed 1 years
