Magnolia Flower

Characters

Appearance: It is in a long oval shape, like the tip of a brush. The base often has short stalks. There are many stamens and pistils, arranged spirally. It is also light and brittle.

Color: The outer surface of bracts is densely covered with gray-white or gray-green hairs, and the inner surface is brown and glabrous.

Smell: Aromatic.

Taste: Pungent and cool but slightly bitter.

Attribution in TCM

Pungent, warm. The lung and stomach meridian in attribution.

It also contains β-pinene, 1,8-cineole, camphor, vicarin, orangeene, vicarin A and other ingredients.

1. Dispel wind and cold, clear nose orifices.

2. Used for wind-cold headache, nasal congestion,  runny nose and turbid nose.

1. Can Magnolia Flower be taken alone?

Magnolia Flower is generally less effective when used alone, and it can be used in combination with other drugs for comprehensive treatment effects.

2. Can Magnolia Flower soak in water directly?

Magnolia Flower has fluffs and cannot be taken directly by soaking it in water.  It will irritate the throat and cause coughing. You need to wrap it with gauze and boil it.
